#30 CASHEW NUTS CORNFLAKES TREAT: recipe #18

I was preparing breakfast this morning when I realised that I still have a kilo of the cashew nuts still "raw" in my cupboard. So I decided to make this treat. The problem with this treat is that its addictive or in malay " terlagi-lagi". During hari raya, this treat is quite expensive , on top of that the nuts used are usually peanuts. I first learned the recipe from a relative , however the way she made it made me put off to make the treat as she used dried chili paste, sugar, onion etc. The recipe I am sharing with you is MY OWN, a very quick recipe , a short cut from the traditional ones that you can do within 30 minutes minus the hassle of preparing from scratch.
Ingredients:
3 cups fried/baked cashew nuts
1 cup fried ikan bilis/pusu
5 cups cornflakes
1/2 bottle Lingham Chilli sauce ( this sauce has sugar + vinegar added)
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp chicken stock powder
2 table spoon oil.
steps:
1. heat oil in wok at low flame
2. Add in Lingham chili sauce , salt and chicken stock. keep stirring ( about 15-20 minutes) or until the chilli is very thick... add the nuts, ikan bilis and cornflakes... stir quickly. cool and put in airtight container.
N/B can be stored for a long time although I am very sure... it will "disappear" within a few days :) cheers!

Hi. Sab... cepat nya sab cuba resipi nie, I just post jam 7.52 tadi..anyway ..kalau bab masin tu, tak lah too masin sebab kita pakai sikit garam jer, just 1/2 tsp jer. barangkali you tersimpan banyak kot.. anyway the garam you can kurangkan tapi for your info this is the "bruneian" thing..previously kita guna ubikayu then ubi kentang... now pakai cornflakes sometimes we guna keropok belinjau. You need to acquire the taste to like it :)
