#53 JAPANESE PANCAKE: recipe #33

Watching the Doraemon show one day, made me curious of this " Dorayaki". Dorayaki filling is supposed to be red beans, but to the ones that I made, I simply spread peanut butter in between it. The difference between this Japanese pancake is that it is sweeter and it's also delicious on its own. Since I don't own any non-stick pan, I used my ordinary egg pan and the mixture browns too quickly.

Ingredients:
100g flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
80 ml water
1/2 tsp salt
50g sugar
1 tbsp honey

steps:
put everthing in a mixer at max speed for 2-3 minutes.
-heat pan ( if you use ordinary pan make sure you put a little oil in it)
-pour some of the mixture intop the pan and cook till done

#20 FLAPJACKS OR FLIPJACKS AS THE BEARS CALL IT: recipe #13

One day I was watching Hisyamuddin's favourite show " The little brown bear" , the episode when the little brown bear was preparing breakfast with the daddy bear. They prepared the so-called " Flip Jacks". The ingredients was simple... eggs, salt, flour, butter and milk. I experimented with the ingredients and found that "Flip Jacks" was actually a kind of pancake which is very delicious. After a few trials especially in the amount of ingredients used (the bears didn't gave this) ..Here's the recipe....

Ingredients: makes 6

1 and 1/2 cup self -rising flour
1 large egg
1/2 cup oil
1 pinch of salt
1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
Enough milk to make the consistensy of the batter like the heavy cake batter or "cucur"batter

steps: batter preparation
mix everything except milk in the bowl.
add in milk until the mixture reached the required consistency.
beat well until you obtain the thick and smooth consistency.
: cooking
heat oil/butter in a heavy non-stick pan
Place 1 tbsp of batter in the pan ( you can place 4-5 FLIP JACKS batter in the pan!)when the bottom side of the batter is cooked, flip the batter and cook the other side till done

serve warm with "kaya", "honey", Jam, Nutella etc...
