#82 FRIED KWAY TEOW WITH BEEF: recipe #60
Kway Teow is culturally Chinese. However, this kind of noodles are popular to other ethnic groups including Malays as well. I've not buy Kway Teow from restaurants for quite sometime now, but I remembered Hj Omar Keeboys' at Medewa and Hj Metali's Firdaus restaurants served good quality fried Kway Teow. I hope they still do.
Ingredients:
300g Kway teow
50 gram beef-sliced to thin strips
2 green chilis - sliced
1 handful bean sprouts
seasonings:
2 dsp soya sauce
2 dsp sweet soya sauce
1 dsp sushi vinegar
1/2 tsp chicken stock powder
2 dsp chili sauce- I used "singapore" chili sauce
1 tsp fish sauce
1 tsp white pepper
steps:
1. Heat wok using high flame, add in the oil
2. fry in the shallots and gralic till fragrant
3. add in the meat, when meat tender , add in the seasonings except the sweet soya sauce
4. add in the noodles and the vegies
5. lastly add in the sweet soya sauce
6. Adjust the seasonings.
Bon Apetit~

Kue tiau is my favourite. Dah lama tak makan...sebabbbb....nak buat kue tiau sendiri, malas! Lagipun tak de kerang, tak kick lah...
I loooovvvvve fried kway teow with beef.
My second choice would be Mee Goreng Taitung with beef.
Hi Mama, I miss the Penang char kway teow, many reasons 1)char 2) ada kerang 3) kway teow kat malaysia a bit lebar dari here... sometimes I masak mee guna kerang dlm tin jer.. Ok lah jugak. Congrats on being recognise by someone from far away.. Mama "fofular" lah..hehehe
Reza, try penang char kway teow, lagi nyaman.. anyway, I also like to cook mee tapi off course, payah kan char coz api stove inda kuat :) Thai Thong mee kalau inda ada "sapak" just talur pun nyaman. When I was at hmy primary school years, I loved the mee that was packed pakai kertas minyak and in My secondary school years I loved Mee si Ali, which was basically Mee Thai thong goreng. :)
Aunidayini... I love penang char kway teow too but I can't find one the same taste as in KL. If I go KLCC, I must go to the Penang food stall order Penang Char Kway Teow.
Also last year, while in Penang I got a chance to try out Penang Char Kway Teow. It was excellent... tais tah liur ku...
BTW.. the best Penang Char Kway Teow in Penang is not halal.... so have to go for the second best.
